Under the Wire Again!

Happy Sunday evening! I hope you had a nice weekend! Here I am again under the wire for a challenge I've been wanting to get into all week! It's been one of those weeks where something always comes up to keep me out of the craft room. I think it's called "Life". My life is blessed even when it keeps me out of the craft room, so I can't complain at all!
So I got these new digis from Deedee's Digis and I've been anxious to color them and design with them. There's a nice sketch to use on the challenge that started last Monday Nov. 1 over at Deedee's challenge blog HERE. I think I have about 3 hours to get this entered into the challenge.
I ended up taking pictures inside the house which I try not to do, but the colors are right on this time! Good Stuff! I did not use a flash, but I set up the card under my tensor lamp.
This card is for Thanksgiving of course.....The pilgrim image might have given it away! I used a cute image from Deedee's called "Thankful for You". It comes with 4 sentiments. I used one on the inside, and one on the front, but I needed to rearrange the placement of the words, so I generated it in Photoshop. If you click on the Deedee's Digi badge on my sidebar you can look at her wonderful selection of images. This month she's got all of her Autumn digis on sale for $1.00! What a great deal! Check it out! This image was colored with Photoshop and gel pens and copics. I love combining the different coloring mediums! All the papers are from S.U. except the white that I printed on. That is Neenah. MS. punch for the leaves.....S.U. punch for the small flowers.....Marvy punch for the large flower. Antique bronze brads are from my stash.

This is one of the sentiments in the digi set. I used a MS punch for the green and an S.U. punch for the flowers.
I believe this will be just in the knick of time for the challenge. Truth is that I love coloring Deedee's images whether or not there's a challenge going on! Thanks for stopping by and have a great and blessed week ahead!

Scotty Scarecrow "Get Well Card"

Hi bloggy friends! I hope you had a Happy Safe Halloween! I actually ate NO candy last night, but my daughter made up a trick or treat bag of goodies for me. She brought it over this morning while I was at work. What a sweetie! Thanks Shell! Snacks while I watch Dancing with the Stars!
Here's a get well card I made. I wanted to use this scarecrow as an Autumn card or a Halloween card, but I decided to start stocking up on the get well cards since the flu season will soon be in full gear! Scotty Scarecrow was my next in line of the digis I wanted to get colored up so here he is on a get well card! Scotty is an image from Boni Boutelle Jones from "BoniBleaux Designs" . Boni has some really awesome images if you would like to take a look over at her store HERE. She has offered Scotty as a free image over at CDAC for the "Freebie Challenge". Love the face on this guy! This card is for someone with a sense of humor and who is only dealing with minor illness, like a guy who thinks he's dying from a cold. I thought this sentiment went perfectly with the scarecrow. Deets are at the bottom of the post. And a zoom-in on Mr. Scotty Scarecrow below.

Papers...Regal Rose from S.U. All other paper is in my scrap stash. Inside and outside sentiment was done on Photoshop in the Kirsten ITC font. Buttons....S.U. Doodling by me. Colored with photoshop , Copic markers, and gel pen. Mesh from my stash.

Sketch Challenge over at CDAC

Hi and Happy Halloween and Blessed Sunday! Another Christmas card for my stash! YAY! Slow and steady wins the race! This is for a sketch challenge at CDAC hosted by Pamela Clark from Firecracker Designs. Pamela has generously offered this image along with a group of packages and a Merry Christmas sentiment as a freebie for us to use in this sketch challenge. I love the way this bough and ornaments looks, so I wanted to focus on this image alone. All papers are from my scrap stash. Sentiment is preprinted chipboard from Creating Keepsakes stash I bought years ago from QVC. The copper areas are done with press and peel foil from Plaid. Gems and brads are from my embelly collection.

This image is colored with Copics. The bough and the ornaments were printed twice and layered for dimension. All the black doodling on this card are hand done by me. The tiny dots are glittery gel pen. Foil was used to hang the ornaments and on some of the doodling around the bough and also to accent the ornaments. The little bows are done with SU copper cord. This is a close up of the right side of the card. I added gems to the sentiment and placed it on a scalloped circle which I punched with the SU punch. I also did some hand doodling along the panel here. The copper foil didn't turn out perfectly. It bugs me, but I think I can deal with it. This may be a Christmas card, but I'm gearing up for some Halloween treats tonight. How 'bout you?

FREEBIE CHALLENGE OVER AT CDAC

Happy Happy Friday! This is a very last minute card for Halloween! Pattie Gomez has offered this cute image she calls "Allie-Witch- Pumpkin" as a freebie over at CDAC to use in the Freebie challenge. We'd love to have you play along. There are images offered by several talented artists for you to choose from. I first saw Pattie's talents when I joined in a challenge over at Michelle Perkett Studio. I was, and still am "WOWED" by the beautiful projects she has designed! Now she is selling her images over at Etsy. Please pop over to see how cute these digis are. I'm sure you'll want to pick up a couple for yourself. Pattie also has a challenge blog which you can get to from the badge on my sidebar. Just click on it, and you'll magically be there. My Allie-Witch-Pumpkin card is below.
I colored the image on PSE and sponged the grass with a dauber. The fence is a punch from MS. The words at the bottom are hand written. Ribbon and gems from the stash. The spiderweb is an old rubber stamp from Great Impressions. The DPs are both from my stash and the big spider and the stars on Allie's hat are stickers I found in my collection that I hadn't looked at in a long time. Close-up of the image is below. I printed the image twice and cut out the pumpkin as well as his eyes, nose, and mouth. Then I gave Mr. Pumpkin a little curve and layered him with dimensionals. Below is the inside of the card. The sentiment is a rubber stamp from Stampin' Up.

Fun Challenge at Deedee's "Add Leaves"

Wow! It's a blustery cold day here! It's a good day to stay inside! I think Deedee has got such cute images! They're so fun to color.....perfectly detailed! If you'd like to take a look at her awesome artwork just click on the Deedee's badge on my sidebar. Or you can go straight to the challenge blog right HERE to join in the fun and to see the superb inspiration projects from the fab DT. This week the team would like us to put leaves on our project. Any kind of leaves, any color, they can be on the DP or add your own somehow. I used the "Sunshine and Sunflowers" digi set from Deedee. This set comes with 4 different sentiments, one of which I used here. Doesn't this scarecrow have the cutest little face? I see he's too cute to scare away the bird that's come to rest on his hat! Love it! And below is a close-up of the sweet little guy. Scroll down for the recipe.

Magical Monday with Paper Cupcakes

Hi Bloggy Friends!
There's another challenge going on over at the "Magical Monday" challenge blog HERE. The challenge is to make a project with some die cuts in it. Nina May is our digital artist for these challenges. You can see her work here at the Paper Cupcakes store. She has lots of cute images to choose from. You will want to add some of her images to your collection. They are perfect for all kinds of celebration projects you may need to create. The image I used for this project is called "Tea Party Princess". She reminds me of my grandaughters. They are so "Girly Girl" sometimes...... and it's really cute when they are. This is an easel card with a little twist. Below is how the card looks in the "easel" position.

I wanted the image to extend above the main card; therefore, I changed some of the measurements so the the card would still fit into a square envelope.

The image is colored with colored pencil and copics and glitter gel pens. I doodled a little in the two corners of the image. The flowers are the die cuts that I used here. They are Sizzlets from Sizzix. Then I shaped them and added stickles to the daisys and a green paper center with glitter to the other flowers. The leaves are done with a MS punch and put through the crimper. The DP is S.U. prints pack. The CS is S.U. "Certainly Celery". The ribbon is from Paper Trey. Gems and white paper is from my stash.

Here is the card when it's fully closed. The borders were created with a Martha Stewart punch. And below is the card when it's opened up. The sentiment is from Stampin Up. I also doodled around 2 of the corners on the sentiment panel.

Embellishment Challenge at CDAC

It's a beautiful Sunday here in SE Michigan. It's just "barely" chilly and so far the sun is making the colorful foilage look absolutely brilliant! It smells so good outside with the wonderful scents of fall in the air. This is my favorite time of year!
Today I'm posting a card I made with the image that's offered for us to use for this challenge over at CDAC. Her name is "Louise" and the artist is Guylou from "Guylou's Inimitability". There are lots of fab images to choose from over at her store. Just click on the badge on my sidebar to browse around the store. This challenge is to use buttons and bows. Easy Peasy?! I only used one of each....I guess that's okay. I saw this sketch someplace in my bloggy travels, but at the time I wasn't recording where I was finding things. This is the first time I've used the sketch. I think it's really different. My papers are Blue Bayou, Pumpkin Pie, and Pretty in Pink from S.U. I stamped the blue and orange in white craft ink with rubber from S.U. The bright pink is from my stash, and was punched with MS for the horizontal band. Ribbon and gems are from the stash also.

Louise is colored with copics, and I used white gel pen for highlights in her hair and boots. The sentiment is a rub-on from S.U. I love her large eyes!

The flower was drawn colored and cut out by myself. I layered it on a scalloped circle in Blue Bayou. The center of the flower has a pink stamped flower from S.U. with a Blue Bayou button also from S.U. I used a "Pick a Petal" stamp from S.U. with Blue Bayou ink and colored the inside of the petals with green Copics for the large petals around the flower.

And below is the inside of the card. I'll add the sentiment in here when I'm ready to send it.

CDAC Holiday Special Occasion Challenge

Hi Girls and Happy Saturday! I got another Christmas card ready for the season! Slow but sure....I'll get there. I chose to use this cute little feller. His name is Rudy. You can get this cute image over at CDAC where there's a challenge sponsored by Helen Laurence from Ellephantastic. You can find the challenge here and if you click on the Ellephantastic logo on my side bar it will take you to the shop where you can purchase lots of really cute images for even more crafting fun. Love his nose.....Here's my card All of the papers and embellies and ribbon are from a large selection of cardmaking supplies I purchased a few years ago from QVC. I sponged the edges of the DP and the vertical strips and cut them different lengths and attached 2 of them with dimensionals. The chipboard stars were plain so I added stickles to them and put 2 of them on a red cord and one of them on a red jump ring and attached it to the tag around Rudy's neck.

Cutie Rudy is colored with Copics, white gel pen, and RED Stickles for his shiny nose. I doodled around the rectangle, then sponged the edges with green and added some stickles to the ground. The little tag came with all the QVC stuff so I just added some red gems to it from my stash and sponged around it in red and added a green layer behind it. I put 2 little holes on each side of Rudy's neck (I was careful so as not to hurt him!!) to tie the cord through and attached the star with the jump ring.

Oh yeah, I put one of the little chipboard stars at the bottom corner of the image and added a little clear gem to cover the hole in the chipboard. He's a fun little image! I hope you can color him up and join in the challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

Crafting with Deedee..Challenge

Happy Friday! Its been a beautiful crisp day here in Michigan. The trees are looking really gorgeous!

There's a challenge over at Crafting with Deedee's. It started on Monday and you'll have until Sunday night to enter into the challenge if you'd like to play along. Deedee is a sweetie with images to match her personality. She has a really wonderful selection in her store if you'd like to browse around and add to your collection of digi images. Just click on Deedee's badge on my side bar to get to the challenge blog and her store. "Candy for the Eyes"!

This week's challenge was to use purple and green in your project. I decided to use this cute little bear with her parachute. She's called "Leap of Faith". She has been colored with copics, photoshop, gel pens and stickles. I added a few extra clouds to my lavendar sky with a sponge,white craft ink and stickles. The sentiment is from Stampin Up. Gems, ribbon and purple cardstock are from my stash. The rest of the papers are from Stampin Up. Cuttlebug embossing folder was used on the green panel. I distressed the edges of the image and the green panel behind it with scissors. I found a heart charm in my mish mash and dabbed it with purple pink and blue copics and put a clear gem on it. It doesn't show up very well in the picture. A close up shot of this little brave bear is below.

Magical Monday challenge at Paper Cupcakes

Hello bloggy crafters!
This is a different kind of a challenge for me. The challenge this week over at "There's Magic in the Air" Challenge Blog is to make a tag. Nina May is the talented artist behind all the cute images the DT and myself have chosen for these challenges. Here is where you can find the challenge. There's a new one each Monday. Check out Nina's selection of images for yourself at http://papercupcakes-stamps.com/. I'm sure you'll find many that you will just "have to have", so you might want to set aside a nice block of time to look around the store. I have to say I like the results I got with this tag. Tell me what you think......and be honest! The image is called "Cadee with Sunflower" from Paper Cupcakes. Isn't she cute? I used chipboard for this that I measured and cut out myself. It's pretty big...about 4"x6". I'm going to put it on a pot of yellow mums that I'm giving to some one as a thank you gift. The back is covered with black cardstock. The front is covered with textured mulberry paper (which I sponged with different inks) and Basic Grey "Sublime" patterned paper. The fence and the white lattice are lazer die cuts that I purchased as part of a large selection of die cuts years ago. The sentiment is a rub-on from S.U. and punched out with S.U.'s scallopped circle punch. The spiral on the corner of the lattice is also from S.U. The fibers, gems, and ribbon are from my stash and the large grommet is one that came with my Crop-a-Dile years ago. It was bright orange. I got an idea from the ever so "Awesome Annika Ryan" to color the metal with Copic alchohol markers. It really took the brightness down for me. Thanks for sharing that info Annika! Sweet little Cadee's body is colored with Photoshop. All the rest was colored with copics and gel pens. Her wing and her head were printed twice and attached on the image with dimensionals. I added glitter and black 3D writer from "Scribbles"to the Sunflower. What do you think? Won't it look good attached to the pot of Mums? Thanks for visiting!

BLACK OUT Challenge at "A Day for Daisies"

Oh WOW! I was browsing around at the adorable images last night HERE at "A Day for Daisies". Such sweet images! Well, I noticed that there's a challenge going on until Nov. 4th. It's called the "Black Out challenge". Use lots of black in your design. You will find the challenge here. Tammy is also offering this fabulous little witch as a freebie for the challenge!She's so cute that I couldn't resist coloring her up and designing with her. So....I was up late last night playing with this little cutie. For this card I stamped some gray cardstock with black webs and bats (which are mostly covered up with the rest of the design). Then I stamped some black cs with some white webs. The stamps I used are oldies from Great Impressions. The other DPs are from DCWV. I had some different shades of purple cs in my collection of scraps that I used for just a little color. I cut some small triangles out of my scraps, sponged the edges, and used these to spell out "Witchy" in black glitter. Attached them to some black thin ribbon and hung this up in kind of a semi-circle. I added some diamond gems also from the stash to give a little more bling to the card.

Little Witchy was colored with Copics and Gel pens. I couldn't resist giving her the freckles and red hair. I love freckles on children! Below is the inside of the card. I used the "rubba" spider web and sponged the edge of the white cs and put a piece of light purple behind.

The hardest part was to wait til morning daylight to take my pictures. Now that fall has hit, the picture taking times are a little more limited, and here in Michigan our days are going to be more and more gray, but today is a Gorgeous sunny perfect day! CDAC Sketch Challenge #8

Hi! There's a sketch challenge going on over at CDAC until Oct. 20. Below is the sketch. You still have time to get your entry in. Well, the cs is Purely Pomegranite, and Black from S.U. The DP is some that I've had tucked away for many moons. The Chipboard flowers, pearls, and gems are all in my stash also. The leaves were done with a MS punch. The corner embellie is done with a Sizzix Sizzlet.

The image was printed once on Neenah white, and once on regular typing paper. I cut the image out of the typing paper so I could mask off the little girls in order to do the sky. The sky was sponged with daubers and a scalloped oval to create bunches of clouds. The image was colored with Copics and Gel pens. The little gems down by the grass are actually flowers on the image, but I thought they would look cute with a gem added to each one. Below is a close up of the image. Hope you like this. Whoops! Missed the Challenge

Hey! I missed the challenge for this image over at Stretch N Bubbles, but there's a new one that just started here. It's challenge #20. Better pay more attention to the dates next time. Anyway, I used this image called"Bonnie Witch Caldron" from Stretch N Bubbles. There's a link on my side bar to the store. Just click on it to see the cute and unique digis they have to offer. I'm sure you'll find something you just can't do without. The image was colored with PSE,. Glitter was added to the flames and Crystal Laquer to the brew inside the pot. I doodled little bubbles coming out of the boiling caldron and put drops of Crystal Laquer on this also. The DP, ribbons and gems are from my stash. The cardstock is from S.U. Spellbinders and a Marvy scalloped oval punch were used to cut around the caldron. Stickles were added to the stars and dots on the DP. The scarey Goblin's head and the eyes were all cut from a piece of Halloween DP that I've had for years. Crystal Laquer was added to all the eyes to make them shiney.

The inside has the same papers that were used on the front and a little pumpkin that was made using the SU small oval punch. I found the squiggle for the stem in my little stash of paper pieces. Thanks for visiting my blog!

Crafting with Deedee..Challenge "Embellished Scripture"

I've got to say that I'm so happy to be able to create another card for Deedee's challenge this week! Please keep Deedee and her family in your prayers, as Deedee's Grandmother has passed away this past week. You're in all our thoughts and prayers Deedee.
This week the challenge is to use one of your favorite scriptures and embellish it any way you wish. I've used a scripture from a set you can find in Deedee's store here called "Glorify the Lord". You'll find this along with so many adorable images and inspirational sentiments. Also stop by the Challenge Blog HERE. Deedee has an awesome DT that will inspire your creativity. I saw this layout at Sugar Creek Hollow...on one of Tracy Vinson's beautiful cards. So this card is a modified version of the one I saw on Tracy's card. You can check out Tracy's blog here on CDAC. She does astounding work! Such beautiful eye candy!

DPs used are from Stampin Up and DCWV. I stamped the lighter DP with a flower and leaf image in black ink, and I stamped the small piece of black cardstock in white flowers and leaves beneath the scripture. MS punch for the black frame and a Fiskars punch for the white around the scripture and the border at the bottom of the card on the DP. I used Stickles for the flower centers and a few little blings on the big flower. Gems and flowers are from my stash. MS punch was used for the leaves. Hope you like it! Have a great day!

Paper Cupcake Challenge "Deco Flower Vase 2"

Here's another challenge card I designed for Paper Cupcake. The challenge this week is to use this terrific freebie that Nina designed and provided for us called "Deco Flower Vase 2". We were to put this image in a frame of some kind on our project. To get in on this Magic Monday Challenge and pick up your freebie just go to the challenge blog here. You will see lots of awesome inspiration to get your mojo flowing. Then....because you will like what you see. you may want to do a little shopping for more of Nina's creative images here at thePaper Cupcake store. This image is actually very versitile for all kinds of greeting cards. I used it here for a "thank you card". I colored the vase on Photoshop and the flowers were colored with Copic Markers and gel pens and glitter. The vase was cut out separately and attached with dimensionals to the image. I wrapped S.U. copper cording around the vase before attaching it. I made a little loopy bow for the vase as well as the one on the white cardstock. Papers are from S.U. "Riding Hood Red, Sahara Sand and black. Yellow paper and gems are from my stash. The sentiment is from S.U. and punched out with the S.U. scallopped square punch. Two different Cuttlebug folders were used to emboss the Sahara Sand and White cardstock. I used a Fiskars punch for the scallop on the yellow paper. I printed the paper for the inside with a plain black line around the edges and a partial image of the Deco Flower Vase. Autumn Blessings

Here is a last minute entry for the challenge over at Deedee's Digitals. I love Deedee's digis and haven't done a challenge in a while so I thought I'd hurry up and get in on this one. The image I used is called Harvest Moon. It was a freebie a while back that I hadn't gotten a chance to use yet. I started out making a Halloween card, but thought it would be more versatile for me to use as a general greeting. It could be sent for a birthday or just a note to say "Hi" or for a lot of other occasions, but definately during the fall season. You can find this digi and so many other designs here at Deedee's store or Here at her blog where you'll get lots of inspiration from the awesome Design Team. I hope you'll stop in and visit Deedee's. You'll love all the talent!!The DP is from Stamping Up, as is the cardstock. I did the sentiment with a white gel pen. I added some little leaf brads that I've had for years. The ribbon is from my stash also. Various parts of the image were printed several times so I could layer it up. I added Dazzling Diamond glitter to the moon. Wow! It really sparkles! The pumpkins have little coiled pieces of wire added to the stem area. The image was colored with PSElements.I added the DP and black cardstock to the inside and attached one of the extra pumpkins to finish it off. Have a blessed day! Thanks for visiting!

I saw this card "style" on You Tube one day when I was browsing around on the internet. It swings open with the brad at the side of the card. I used a piece of acetate for the ice float that the guys are skating on. I scratched the ice up a little to make it look like they were skating in a circle. The snowflakes are punched on shiny silver paper with a Marvy punch. The circle sentiment and the gems are from Stampin Up. I used stickles on the edges of the ice float. The stars are punched out of "pearl paper" and little flat blings were put in the center of each star for more shine.

I printed the penguin twice in 2 sizes for this. I colored them with my Photoshop Elements program. I put glitter gel pen on their skates. The background was created with a sponge and different shades of blue ink. I sponged silver ink around the black edge of the card. This is how the card looks as it's being opened to view the sentiment, which is from Stampin Up. I left space above to write a note of holiday cheer to the recipient. Guylou's Inimitability September Sketch Challenge

Congratulations to Guylou's Inimitability for reaching 150 members in her group! She generously is giving this cool image away called "Eleanor 3". Does her activity look familiar to any of you? I thought.....what a great thank you card to give to one of your girlfriends who may be hosting a little stamping get together! So.......Guylou is also having a September challenge over at CDAC which ends on Sept. 30. Where did the month go? It's a sketch challenge that you can use any of her images on, and there has to be blue somewhere on the project. Here is where the challenge info. is. And you can browse around Guylou's store here. She has some great images! The DP is from Papertrey. The polka dot paper is from DCWV summer stack. Ribbon and gems are from my stash. Cardstock is from S.U. Sentiment and flower is also from S.U. I used the S.U. scallopped circle punch around the sentiment and the corner punch up by the image.

Eleanor is colored with Photoshop on her skin and Copic markers for the rest of the image. I used glittered and plain gel pens for the little pencils and gems in the little jar. She is attached with dimensionals to bring her away from the DP behind her.
