Deedee's Brown and Green challenge

This little Piggy is so cute, I just had to dress her as a girl. This image and the sentiment is from Deedee's digis http://craftingwithdeedeesdigis.blogspot.com. Just one of Deedee's many adorable images! The challenge was to use brown and green. I really had a tough time with this. Deciding on the shades of green and the patterned papers and embellies was really reeking havoc on the ole' noggin'! I decided (in my eye) that with these two colors, there definately needed to be a substantial amount of white or cream to go with these dark shades I have here. I think without the white and cream it would have looked like MUD! But then Piggies love mud....."but not on my card"! The Deets.....Paper is Basic Grey "Sublime" The plaid and dotted paper is from PTI chocolate remix. The very dark green is from my stash. I used cuttlebug on the oval and on the dark green horizontal strip. I doodled some faux stitching on the white edges. I used a sizzix die to cut the corner embelly. And I used SU. punch for the dark brown corner. The little "friends" on the horizontal piece is a MS punch (LOVE!). Punched in plaid and in dark brown....attached them offset to make it look like a shadow. I thought this punch was perfect for this sentiment.
Since this cutie pig had to be a girl, I tied a ribbon on her ear from my stash. I used a MS punch to make her bouquet. The big flower is the one from the digi. I cut it out and shaped it a little and added stickles in the center. The 2 white flowers are from my stash and yellow stickles were added to the center. I colored her with copic markers E00, E01, E02, YG91 and E55. Her snout is R01, R02, and RV32. Hope you like her......She wants to be your friend!

Pollycraft Challenge #54 Love and Marriage

FLUFFY LOVES LOVEBOT!......Can I just think on a normal level!? NO! This challenge over at Pollycraft was to do a card thinking along the lines of love and marriage. Well Monsters and Robots need love too! Mind you...this would not be a card for your most elegant, serious friends. This is more for your friends or family that sway a little more to the wild, and crazy fun side of the spectrum of personalities! We love them all anyway....don't we! This is for the couple who's marriage is going to be chock full of fun and laughs! I ended up using a lot of my paper scraps for this one! Love that!!....my scrap bin is really getting full! I used "Lovebot" and "Fluffy" from Pollycraft digi stamps and more. Check out the blog at http://pollycraftchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ to see the challenges. From there you can navigate around to see all the design inspiration and purchase some of the awesome images for yourself. You're going to love browsing here!
Okay,....so I found some gray, and a dark bluish gray cardstock that I used for this. The cuttlebug embossing hearts folder was used on the gray panels, and I glittlered the raised hearts with Dazzling Diamonds from S.U. In my stash I found the pink flowers, lace, green cardstock, tiny pearls, white organdy ribbon, and a heart charm.

The Deets.....I printed these two cuties 3 times so I could layer this up. I colored them with copic markers. Stickles were used on the balloon and "Mrs. Fluffy's" accessories and gloves, and little antaenna. She has pieces of lace behind the top and second layer of her head with a few pearls to adorn the veil. Her sleeves are also those tiny pearls. Fluffy has kind of a scruffy coat today since he's a little nervous....but he's sporting a shiny black bow tie and a boutineer with a little bit of pink stickles in the center to match Lovebot's accessories. His eyes and teeth have crystal laquer on them to give him a shiny glowy look! I popped his teeth out to give him a little more dimension too. Yes.....they are the perfect match......and they're going to live "Happily ever after" which was generated on Photoshop. Thanks for taking a look!

Deedee's Challenge (card of Friendship & send it)

Hi everybody! Hope your weekend is going well! I am really getting in on this challenge at the last minute! The challenge is from Deedee's Digis. It is to make a card of friendship and send it. I will probably hand-deliver this to my sister for her birthday this week. The name of this image is "Shells from the Sea". I got it last week when I entered Deedee's challenge and I've been anxious to use it. I decided to make a "Tent Topper" card. I got this cool orange organza wire edged ribbon last year from Garden Ridge and finally got an opportunity to use it. I needed a nice wide ribbon for this. My card base is from S.U."Rich Razzleberry",and I used 2 DPs from S.U. Sweet Pea paper pack. Love that pad of paper! I used a Fiskars border punch on the bottom of the designer paper and added a few gems from my stash.

I printed the digi 3 times and cut it apart and layered it. I sandwiched torn sandpaper (I had to dig it out of my shed) in between the layers. I added dazzling diamond glitter in some of the sand areas to make it look like the sun was shimmering on it.

The star fish and the shell on the right were colored with copics. I put a tiny bit of white glitter on the star fish and I brushed on some crystal laquer to the shell on the right. I wanted the shell in the back to have some texture so I colored it with colored pencils and then brushed on some "Scribbles" irridescent white mist mixed with a little Pearl Ex. which made it thick enough to give it a decent amount of texture. It's hard to see the color because of the reflection of the light on the irridescent paint.

I printed a small version of this digi on the inside of the card with reduced opacity. It's on the same DP as what was used on the front bottom. This is the sentiment that came with this digi set. I love it! It's perfect to go with these sweet shells. I used the border punch again on each side of the sentiment. And now I am excited about getting Deedee's cute little set called "God's Way". The sentiment is awesome and it has the most adorable looking little piggy with such a sweet face to go with it. You can check out all of the awesome talent over at Deedee's here at http://craftingwithdeedeesdigis.blogspot.com/ I know you'll find yourself smiling as you look! Thanks for stopping by my blog! Talk to you later.

Magical Monday at Paper Cupcakes "Strawberries and Cream"

Hi! I was checking out the Paper Cupcakes blog and.....Wow! What a cute Party Cake image Nina May was offering as a freebie. It goes right along with the Strawberries and Cream challenge! The prize for the random drawn winner is the most adorable Watermelon embellies with ribbon and trim to go with it. I just had to get in on this! Love those embellies! This is the "Party Cake" I received as a freebie. Cute, Cute, Cute!! I printed it several times and layered it and blinged it up..... put the cake on a lacy tablecloth..... and put it on an Easel card! Close up below.

Paper is all S.U. as is the sentiment. Lace is from Joann's. Ribbon is from PTI. I dotted "very vanilla" cardstock with polka dots. Gems are from my good old stash. I frosted the cake with Copics, Stickles and I used iridescent white mist fabric writer by "Scribbles" for the icing on top of the 2 large layers. I cut out and layered the flowers on top and added some very thin wire that I spiraled around a toothpick and glued it into the top with crystal glaze between the flowers. It's the tiniest cake I've ever decorated at a whopping 2 1/2 inches tall from plate to the tippy top! I'm sure I'll be decorating this little cake many different ways on future projects.
Thanks for this adorable image Nina! Here's Nina's blog address if you'd love to take a look-see at all the wonderful talent... http://theresmagicintheair.blogspot.com/

CDAC Sketch Challenge #2 "Shelly's Images"

This card is for the Sketch challenge #2 over at CDAC. This cute little birds with the banner image was a freebie from Shelly Parker at "Shelly's Images". She has lots of cute images available here at www.shellysimages.com if you'd like to go over and browse. The birds in this image were copied and resized several times so I could have a bunch of birds flying around and sitting on the banner. The birds were colored on PS Elements. The banner was sponged around the edges and the Happy Birthday was colored with glitter pens. The papers are all S.U. The gems are from stash. Flowers were made and shaped from S.U. punch. Ribbon is from stash. Fiskars border punch and S.U. scallopped border punch were used. All the birds and the banner were cut out and attached with dimensionals. I just couldn't resist putting a little bling on their wings!

This is the Sketch we were to use for this challenge along with Shelly's Image. Thanks to Shelly for the adorable image and thanks to Scrappy for this sketch!

CDAC Holiday Challenge

Hi bloggers! Here's a card I made for the Holiday/Special Occasion Challenge over at CDAC. It's being hosted by "Sew Many Cards". Angela Doescher has given us this cute little elephant freebie to use in the challenge. He is called "Eris Christmas Lights". Poor little guy. My take on this is that he's having a tough time putting lights on the tree. So my story with this card is that he's got this empty tree that he has to decorate .... all the ornaments are sitting out in a box ready to go, but poor Eris is just getting so frustrated with the tangled lights, as he looks on at this huge task he has to do before Christmas Eve. You can find tons of adorable images like this one here http://shop.somanycards.com/ This is a first for me.... Eris was colored on Photoshop Elements. I took some of the black out of his eyes and made them blue. I printed him out on glossy photopaper. I put a little stickles on his star to bling it up. Along with his tangled lights he's holding a couple ornaments (charms) that I tied to his trunk with SU silver cord. The bling around the circle and the rectangle frame are called "Dot Sparklers" by Stampendous. I got them at Michaels. They're very blingy and yet they are very flat (easier to mail). The ribbon is from PTI. "Joy" is a rubber stamp from S.U.
Close up of Eris....The charms say "Wish" and "Magic"
Another "First".....I needed an empty tree to go with my story for Eris. So I drew this one and the box of "waiting" ornaments. This was also colored on Photoshop. I cut it out and adhered it to my DP with dimensionals. I took the picture outside and the angle of the sun really gives my tree a great shadow! I do have some shading around the tree and box, but it's not that pronounced! My papers are Bazzil cardstock and S.U. Pink Pirouette. I used Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background, and put a little color on the sentiment heart with copics.

Here is my jpeg. If you want to use it, be my guest. I'm not sure if I've done this correctly. I guess you can click on the pic., then right click to save it on your computer.? I'm going to try it myself to see if it works. If it doesn't ... I'll ask somebody who knows. IT WORKS! IT WORKS! I DID IT!!

Michelle Perkett Sketch/color challenge#38

Hi ladies! I guess I'll start with the close-up since that's the order these came up in. This is for Michelle Perkett's Sketch/ color challenge. I've used this adorable image from Michelle called "Abby and Walter's Birthday Wishes". There's a link to Michelle's on my sidebar so you can visit her blog to see all the beautiful inspiration and artwork from Michelle and the fabulous DT. Okay...the whole picture! I cut Abby and Walter apart and resized them and the balloons for placement on the card. Walter is attached with dimensionals as he looks on at Abby's yummy cupcake. I used a big sequin behind the candle and blinged it up a bit with yellow stickles. She's having a "Bright Shiny Birthday"! I doodled two of the balloons with little flowers and polkadots just to change it up a bit. They are attached to SU gold cord which is glued behind Abby and tied to Walter's tail. The ballons themselves are attached with dimensionals. The coloring was done with copics and gel pens.

This is the sketch for the challenge. You could either do just the sketch "or" the colors (Turquoise, cream, sand, chocolate) or combine both. My entry is a combination of both.
DP...PTI.Chocolate Remix, S.U. Sweetpea Designer Series., and DCWV Retro Stack.
cardstock...S.U.
Two little gems...stash.

Deedee's Happy Monday Sketch Challenge

This is a card I made for Deedee's "Happy Monday Sketch Challenge" The "sweet" image I used is called "Little Miracles". Just click on the Deedee's Digis badge on my sidebar.
DP is from Papertrey Ink.....Cardstock is Stampin' Up.......Cuttlebug embossing folder was used on the green panel and I hit the high spots with Palette Clean Canvas. The large flower is handmade with S.U. scalloped circle punch w/half inch circle punch for the center. The sparkle is Dazzling Diamond glitter from S.U. The bling and charms are from my stash. The sentiment is from Designer Digitals. Image was colored with Copics and gel pens.

Deedee's Flamingo

This is a card I made for the Embellishment Challenge over at CDAC. I used this cute little Flamingo that was a freebie from Deedee's Digis. Please see the link to her adorable artwork on my sidebar. I have named 2 of my Flamingos. "Flossie" is strutting her stuff with a sequin and bling hat. She has a jump ring neclace and ankle bracelet with a bead on each. Her toe ring is a pearl. "Gertie" is puttin' on a show with her purple fiber had with a large sequin that was cut and folded into quarters. She has a long chain necklace with a diamond on it . Her bling ring (which she's showing off to Flossie) and her "Wing Bling" and her toe ring all match in a lovely aqua blue. She also has an ankle bracelet made from a square jump ring with a bead on it. All the blingy things are from my stash of blingy stuff.
The DP is from Paper Trey Ink and the cardstock is from Stampin' Up. The flower is handmade with wet cardstock and DP. I found the sentiment in my collection of fun designs from "Designer Digitals". This is a little on the silly side, but I had a lot of laughs dressing up these two "Girls"! Oh.......I should mention that the two Flamingos in the background are just shaking their heads and giggling when they see Flossie and Gertie. They know how different these two girls are.....but they love Flossie and Gertie anyway!
Thanks for the fun challenge and the Flamingo digi Deedee!

Magical Birthday

I made this card for "other/theme" challenge at CDAC. The images are all from Michelle Perkett Studios. They are a combination of Goldilocks, Flower Cupcake, and one of the fairy's from "Juniper and Cecelia". The paper is from DCWV glitter stack. The flowers from Joann's and the bling and ribbon is from my stash. I created the sentiment on Photoshop for this. See the close-up below for detail on the fairy.
This little fairy is mounted on a coil of very thin wire so she appears to be floating above the cupcake. She is blowing fairy dust on the cupcake in wishes for a "Magical Birthday". At least that's how it is in my head! I hope it appears that way! Check out Michelle's adorable and whimsical images on PCP and CDAC. There's a link on the sidebar which will take you right to her beautiful artwork.
